Welcome America, Inc. is a 501c3, non-profit organization engaged in a public-private partnership with the City of Philadelphia which seeks to enhance the resident and visitor experience by planning and producing citywide celebrations including Wawa Welcome America and the Philly Holiday Experience. These events generate positive economic impact to the local economy and increase awareness of Philadelphia as a global destination.
Our mission is to create free, family-friendly experiences that generate a positive impact on the local economy, foster civic pride, activate our city’s iconic public spaces, and help position Philadelphia as a global event destination.
Welcome America Inc., is looking to do a significant audience development research project to better understand the perception that Philadelphians have of the Wawa Welcome America Festival, what makes people want to attend or not attend the festival, what they would like to see as part of the festival etc. This data will provide important insight that will guide how the Welcome America team builds our festival for 2026 and beyond.
Deliverables will include a final report detailing data trends and recommendations, as well as the raw data collected from the surveys and/or focus groups.
The fellow would spend the winter/early spring developing the questionaire, conduct focus groups in mid spring and oversee the distribution of the questionaire during the Wawa Welcome America Festival between Juneteenth and July 4th. Must be available to work on July 4th.
