About Jordan A. Harris
House Majority Appropriations Chairman Jordan A. Harris has represented the 186th Legislative District of Philadelphia since 2012. A South Philadelphia native, Harris is the first African American to serve as both Democratic Caucus Whip and Appropriations Chair. Known nationally for his work in criminal justice reform, he co-authored Pennsylvania’s Clean Slate Law, a model for automatic record sealing, which has cleared over 40 million records and inspired similar efforts nationwide. Harris is also a leader in probation reform, striving for a fairer system that encourages rehabilitation. Actively involved in his community, Harris serves on various boards and is recognized as one of Philadelphia's most influential leaders.
About the Series: Executive Leadership Dialogue, a lunch series hosted by Fels Distinguished Fellow Joseph Pierce, introduces students to public sector leaders who will share their perspectives on leadership, mentorship, and executive management. The lunches are small by design and include both MPA and EMPA students, allowing them to gain insight and learn valuable lessons on public sector leadership.
