Join us for a Policy Coffee Talk featuring Fels Distinguished Fellow Mike DiBerardinis and Christine Piven, Executive Director of Adult Education at the Office of Children and Families for the City of Philadelphia. Policy Coffee Talks are offered to MPA and EMPA students as a unique “off-record” opportunity to discuss current events and relevant policy issues with active practitioners.
About Christine Piven
Christine Piven, PhD, is the chief of prevention and the executive director of adult education for the City of Philadelphia. For over 14 years and across several roles with the City, she has been asked to reimagine (or create) public-facing initiatives including launching Philadelphia's first grants office, creating a national model for President Obama’s My Brother’s Keeper effort, developing a new city-wide after-school initiative, supporting the reorganization of two signature mayoral initiatives (Community Schools and PHLpreK), rebuilding the adult education system in Philadelphia, and most recently focusing on prevention services for the City.
