Govern for America fellows, alumni, and staff are now eligible for Fels admissions benefits
The Fels Institute of Government welcomes Govern for America as its newest admissions partner organization. Govern for America (GFA) is a nonprofit working to build the next generation of public sector leaders to create a more diverse, effective, and responsive government.
The fellowship offered through GFA is a two-year program for recent graduates who take on roles in government to amplify their leadership skills, collaborate to solve problems within diverse communities, and mobilize action with data-informed strategies.
GFA’s values—equitable and inclusive action, bold leadership, data-driven learning, and supportive communities—align with the learning environment and network that Fels continues to build with each cohort. Mindy Zacharjasz, Director of Master of Public Administration at Fels, said, “We are thrilled to partner with Govern for America and to welcome them as a Fels admissions partner. GFA’s mission of developing diverse and dynamic public sector talent is very well-aligned with our goals at Fels, and we share a commitment to building more inclusive systems and more effective government.”
As part of this partnership, Govern for America fellows, alumni, and staff are eligible for admissions benefits at Fels Institute of Government. Govern for America fellows who apply for the Master of Public Administration (MPA) at Fels will have their application fee waived, and those admitted are eligible for an $8,000 scholarship. Govern for America joins an illustrious roster of Fels admissions partner organizations, including AmeriCorps, the Corella and Bertram F. Bonner Foundation, City Year, Eastern Leadership Academy, Jesuit Volunteer Corps, Lead For America, Peace Corps, Public Policy and International Affairs Program, Teach For All, and Teach For America. The Admissions Partner Grant program reflects the Fels Institute’s commitment to public service and to increasing diversity in public sector leadership.
