Event Information:

Are you interested in applying to the Presidential Management Fellowship? Come hear from Fels Alumna Liz Gabor about her experience with the program.

We also recommend that interested students attend a free, virtual training on Writing a Federal Resume on October 11 or October 24, which are run by the Office of Personnel Management. Seats are limited, so register today!

Liz Gabor grew up in inner city Philadelphia, in a neighbourhood called Frankford. She has always managed projects in one way or another since her first job in Washington, D.C. It’s as if the world recognized a skill and place for her before she knew herself that she was Type A and focused on efficiency.  The environment Liz grew up in also inspired her interest to rejuvenate land for future use.

She is an economic development professional with twenty years of experience in government relations and real estate development, focusing on complex public private transactions. Key strengths are the ability to keep projects moving forward despite involvement of multiple and diverse stakeholder groups, the ability to bridge both private sector and public sector cultures and requirements, and adjusting communications for different audiences.

Liz presently works for IKEA Property, Inc as a Real Estate Manager focusing on the distribution and logistics needs of the company.  While at the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation, Liz managed the City Surplus program, the Industrial Land Bank, strategic RFPs on Broad Street, and strategic acquisitions for the economic development agencies. Liz was accountable to the Department of Commerce in the Industrial Land Bank program. Prior to moving back home to Philadelphia, she worked in various capacities in Washington, D.C. at the Pentagon, White House, and Capitol Hill.  Liz has always been driven by policies to improve cities and clean up fallow blighted land.
